About ME!
My maiden name was Maria
Lorena Fernandez Villahermosa. What
a long name? I was born in Cebu City on February 11, 1975..
I have two twin sisters and one brother.
I am the eldest in the family. My
family is still residing at Lawaan, Talisay, Cebu, Philippines. (Talisay
City - The government center of Talisay, Cebu)
As you can see, I am a
Filipino, born and raised in the Philippines. I grew up in the beautiful
Province of Cebu. There is a lot more about my province and

After my studies were I
received my degree in Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Cebu Polytechnic
College. I was able to work for a few years in Cebu City. After that, I went to
work for Senator John Osmenia as a bookkeeper handling the accounts of Cebu
Polytechnic College. My
responsibilities included bank reconciliation, recording transactions, preparing
financial statements, taxes, and filing. At the same time, a few of my friends
and I opened a small sory-sory which we operated until I left the PI.
In late 1998, I joined an internet dating service called Roses Lifetime
Partners. Here is where I contacted my unknowing husband to be. In October 1999,
Michael came and visited me. On November 5, 1999 he purposed to me at Al's
Restaurant in the hills surrounding Cebu City. On August 5, 2000 Michael and I
got married.

Today I am getting acquainted with the American way of life. I started working
part time at a small law firm doing all of the bookkeeping. In time I looked for
more responsibility and found it at the Osborn & Barr Advertising company.
Same job as previously, but with new and greater responsibilities then before.
Now my accounts are much larger and I am working full time. My goal is still to
study and pass the accounting board exams.

Current Projects
My
family means everything to me. Giving them everything I can dose not
seem enough. My family is quite poor and my husband and I are doing everything
we can to help them help themselves. We are sending my two twin sisters through college
and got them a computer to give them an advantage to their studies. We are also
helping my brother continue his degree to one day get his dream of becoming a
ship captain. Mom and dad were given the keys to their very own Jeepeny. Built
and designed by my award wining uncle Rito in Davou. Who knows what will be
next. ;-)
Hearing
Aids for the PI In time I hope to help the deaf of the
Philippines. Especially my cousin John John. My husband will be building a web
site and we will both be looking for donations. Along with Rick Manuel, we hope
to provide as much help to the hearing impaired as possible. Everything from
school supplies to hearing aids are needed. A little donation can go a long way.

we hope to have a family, buy a house, build a house, or rehab our present home.
Stay healthy, enjoy life and have fun. Hopefully do a trip or two a year and
perhaps go back to the PI in 2008. We will see.
My
Dream for my future? ...
our future? Help the deaf people of the Philippines. Perhaps in time I will find
full time work or even work with the deaf people in St. Louis. My cousin is
deaf, and being he is in the PI, makes life very hard to survive. Being deaf
makes it a whole lot harder.
We have already helped some with hearing aids and other things. But our hope is
to help even more in the future.
